Proud of its iconic status, Stella has been subject to an evolutionary overhaul with a new suite of technologies. These advancements are a feat of cutting-edge engineering and affect nearly every part of the reel, including the gear, line management, and drag. These are developments that will make your fishing more efficient, higher-performing, and ultimately more enjoyable. SHIMANO calls it "Infinity Evolution"... but for fishers around the world, it will simply be known as Stella.
Fishing with Stella is an unforgettable experience, further fortified by the introduction of three new "Infinity" technologies. InfinityXross provides a build of materials more durable than the proven Hagane material, offering greater durability, especially under extreme usage, which extends the reel's lifespan. InfinityLoop is an ultra-slow oscillation of the spool, with better line laying. This significantly reduces the line's friction during casting, enhancing casting performance. InfinityDrive produces a powerful yet light rotation, especially under heavy loads. In extreme situations, you can always maintain a constant, steady startup pressure.
For perfect line management, a brand new feature named "Anti-Twist Fin" has been developed to control the tension on the line running through the pick-up roller on the spool. And if that's not enough, there is a new brake system called Duracross delivering an enhanced brake smoothness, durability and hooking power. Stella is available in 12 models to cover all uses and all fishermen's preferences, and it is also suitable for saltwater use.

Some references, notably on the 2500 have an S, which stands for "shallow spool". The number of washers inside the spool also changes, underscoring the importance of using your reel in accordance with your fishing. Indeed, the shallow spool is recommended for finesse or ultra-light fishing with thin braids that rarely exceed a resistance of 3kg. So there's no need for a very solid brake. On the other hand, a standard spool will be much more versatile and will allow the use of thicker braids.
