The Vanford is Shimano's most sensitive spinning reel. Perfect for a wide range of lighter fishing styles, the Vanford is part of the Magnumlite series and pushes the boundaries of technology and engineering, offering remarkable finesse that you can truly feel and will surely appreciate.
The inertia needed to start the Vanford rotor is almost imperceptible. It's hard to describe the feeling, but pick one up and you'll understand immediately what we mean. With sensitivity and lightness comes control, and with control comes better fishing and more success. Everyone wins, and when it comes to light combos for lure fishing, very few things can compete with the Vanford. Pair it with any high-quality light lure fishing rod and you'll immediately improve balance, allowing you to fish better, longer and increase your enjoyment to levels higher than you thought.
The sensitivity of the Vanford is the result of the MGL rotor, which, along with the body, is designed from Shimano's exclusive Ci4+ composite material. That's also why the reel is so light in hand. Internally, the HAGANE Gear, MicroModule II, X-SHIP, and Silent Drive work together harmoniously to deliver smoothness and an ample amount of power. The addition of the Long Stroke Spool enhances casting performance, particularly when using the smaller sizes with ultra-light lures. If you prefer fishing with larger soft lures or crankbaits, take a look at the larger sizes of Vanford, which are offered with various gear options, including High Gear (HG) and Extra High Gear (XG) With 14 different options, the reasonably priced Vanford model is an emerging legend.
