L’ATHLETE 17SSV est conçu pour se lancer loin grâce à une nouvelle bavette imaginée par JACKSON et appelée « Vortex Generator ». Les leurres longs et effilés sont difficiles à lancer du fait des vibrations de leur corps qui génèrent une résistance supérieure dans l’air laquelle réduit les distances de lancer. La bavette de l’ATHLETE 17SSV réduit les vibrations du corps et la résistance dans l’air permettant de gagner 10.3% de distance en moyenne par rapport à un leurre non équipé du Vortex Generator. L’ATHLETE 17SSV conserve une position stable même contre le vent, il possède en outre une nage serrée avec un wobbling et un rolling qui fonctionnent à vitesse de récupération lente permettant d’alterner avec des jerks aux bons moments.
