The bait rocket priming, or spodding as it's also known, is a very versatile technique as it allows you to prime any bait, even the smallest, at a long distance, this is the only way to prime pure hemp seed for example from the shore. You can use all sorts of bait, what is very commonly used is a spod mix, which is a clouding flour blend, coupled with seeds, pellets and crushed boilies. For this you need a specific rod, generally powerful, called a "spod rod", a large spool reel filled with about 0.20mm braid, a 0.50mm nylon top line and tie your spod or bait rocket. Then you just need to fill your spod, launch, if possible with a high throw so that it falls straight and the shock on the water makes it open well, bring it back, and then start again. It will be more comfortable to have a bucket support so as not to have to bend over each time. The most well-known and used spod is the Spomb, which comes in three sizes - mini, midi, and normal, then you have the choice between the Impact spod Fox or the Dot Spod Nash.
